Navy Boat - Neoprene

Chloroprene was originally developed as an oil-resistant substitute for natural rubber. CR is highly popular for its balance of performance properties among the synthetic polymers, and is uniquely resistant to petroleum oils, environment, ozone, UV and oxygen. Classified as a general purpose elastomer, chloroprene is used in a wide range of industries including transportation, recreation, and refrigeration sealing.

Characteristics of Neoprene

  • Moderate resistance to petroleum oils and fuels
  • Resistance to ozone, UV, oxygen, aging
  • Good physical toughness and mechanical strength
  • Standard Temperature Range: -40° to +230°F (Dry Heat Only)
  • Hardness (Shore A): 40 to 80
