Architectural Glass and Metal Sealing
Vip extrudes rubber and plastic profiles and fabricates seals and gaskets for the architectural glass and metal industry. Examples of window gaskets can be produced from EPDM, silicone, Santoprene (TPE), or vinyl, depending on the required design or application. If you are a manufacturer who needs extrusions or gasket fabrication, we invite you to contact us to discuss your sealing application.
Rubber Extrusions
Rubber extrusions have a cross-sectional shape, or profile, that is designed to fit a glass or metal substrate and support compression. During the extrusion process, soft rubber is forced through a hard tool called a die. The coils that are extruded have the shape of the die and can be fabricated into glazing seals, window rubber, or other glazing rubber products. Examples of window rubber include EPDM and neoprene.
Plastic Extrusions
Plastic extrusions are also designed to fit a glass or metal substrate with specific size, such as 1/4” or 1/2”. A die and extruder are used to produce coils that can be fabricated into window profiles, plastic glass beads, or other plastic glazing products. Examples of these plastic materials include polyvinyl chloride (PVC), a flexible polymer. Vip can also extrude thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) and Santoprene.
